The DeRisk consortium consists of 8 partners from the academic and private sector. The research spans from fundamental physics to applied statistics. With a highly relevant goal of feasible offshore wind energy, the DeRisk project is a unique chance to boost the hydrodynamic research for offshore wind energy.

Academic and private partners

The consortium consists of three universities and three companies. Each with unique competences in their respective fields. All work packages have at least three partners and participants from both academic and industrial partners. The blend of scientific strength and daily business exposure guides the research in the right direction and stimulates exploitation of the results during and after the project.

Experience from previous research

DTU, DHI, Statkraft and DONG have previously worked together in the Danish Wave Loads project (ForskEL 10495, 2010-2013) where several numerical tools and a validation data set were produced. DeRisk is the natural extension with further insight into the physical processes, further application and development of numerical tools and a strong emphasis of application of the results in the design process.
